Hi, I’m Nikki. I work with adults dealing with anxiety, people pleasing tendencies, and perfectionism who feel stuck in their life. Typically, this is a process that has happened slowly over time and perhaps they do not even recognize themselves or their lives. Whatever the contributing factors, my goal is to empower clients to find their voice and make the changes they seek in their life.
I have worked with a variety of people from many backgrounds over the course of my 11 year career and my passion is helping people speak their truth and live an authentic life. Whether I am working with a young career driven professional, a person in an early-life, mid-life or late-life crisis, or an individual who has lost themselves in parenting or a relationship, counseling does help. I have been fortunate to witness incredible transformations in people. These changes in the individuals I work with is one of the reasons why counseling is my passion.
I earned a Master's degree in Social Work with an emphasis in mental health at the University of Utah. I have 11 years of clinical experience. I earned my undergraduate degree in
Social Work at Weber State University. In my career thus far I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings, as well as within doctors offices assisting patients with needs. Each step in my career has helped me in being a well rounded counselor.
What can you expect from me in a therapy session? I am compassionate, direct, practical, and use evidence based techniques in sessions. I also use humor and enjoy sharing a laugh with a client. I do not take a one size fits all approach to therapy, and I adjust treatment to your specific needs. I will seek feedback to ensure you are getting the most out of therapy. I can help you with specific techniques and skills to overcome a challenge. If you need to talk through a situation to make sense of it and glean an outside perspective, we can do that. Perhaps you are unsure of what would be helpful, I can be directive to assist you as well. I want therapy to be as comfortable and be the most beneficial for you as possible.

Finding the right therapist can be a time consuming daunting task.
Perhaps you started with a Google search, and have looked through countless websites and profiles. Maybe you have asked friends, family, your Primary Care Provider, and colleagues about locating a good therapist. Your search continues, and you are beginning to feel like this is not worth it. Clients who experience the best results with me come to therapy ready to work. They have good follow through and work hard in and out of sessions to get to the cause of the distress which helps them move forward in their life. They want to understand what is keeping them stuck and we both work towards this. They appreciate and find value in my kind and straightforward approach. I am direct and do not tip toe around an issue which can help us get to the root of a problem. Many of my previous clients have provided feedback that my approach is refreshing and not passive as their previous therapists have been with them. I keep it real, and I appreciate a client who does the same. They also understand that I do not have magic wand to overcome their challenge, it has been on the fritz for years.
